Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q: How long does it take for me to get my images?
A: I typically will post a sneak peek preview of your session within 48 hours of our session together. After that, family sessions typically take 2-3 weeks of editing before your gallery is ready, and weddings usually are turned around within 4-6 weeks. This is all dependent on how many other sessions I have to work on, whether or not we’re in a busy season for photography, etc. but I will communicate with you often about your photo gallery status!

 

Q: How far in advance do I need to book my session?
A: I like to book sessions at least 2-3 months in advance, but there are occasionally times in which I have a last-minute inquiry that I can accommodate. Fall sessions are in HIGH demand, so I typically have those booked at least 5-6 months in advance.

 

Q: Why do you prefer to shoot your sessions the hour before sunset (Golden Hour)?
A: The lighting is AMAZING during Golden Hour, and I totally understand why so many clients are a little leary of shooting that late, or that it’s not that convenient in their schedules. However, I have never been dissatisfied with my lighting during this hour, and neither have my clients. It helps us avoid most weather- and sun-related issues as an added bonus!

 

Q: Where do you shoot most of your sessions?
A: I am a natural light specialist, and living in Colorado with this gorgeous scenery does not disappoint! While I do have a studio that I can use at my home, I MUCH prefer outdoor, natural light sessions. I have been all over Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont, and Estes Park primarily, but pretty much anywhere with pretty scenery and tree-shaded areas will do!

 

Q: Do you accept tips/gratuity?
A: Tips are never required or expected, but are truly appreciated. Every dollar that I earn above and beyond what I charge is a blessing for myself and my family, and it communicates to me that I’ve gone above and beyond, which I always strive to do for every session.

 

Q: Will you help me pick out my/our wardrobe for our photo session?
A: Most definitely! I am a huge fan of making sure that you look AH-MAZING in your pictures, and a large part of that is to pick out a wardrobe that will photograph well. Please allow me to assist you in this venture!

 

Q: I notice in your contract that you have permission to use our images on social media, advertising, etc. What if I’m not comfortable with that?
A: Part of why I’m so incredibly affordable is that I run my business primarily through social media networking, word of mouth, etc. I pay $0 in advertising and therefore keep my costs low for you, my clients! However, if you wish to sign an NDA clause that restricts my use of our images to just those that you give written consent for, I am happy to add that to our contract for an additional fee. Let’s discuss your options!

 

Q: What if another couple (or family) requests our date before we have the chance to book officially?
A: When I have multiple inquiries for the same date, and nobody has signed a contract yet or paid their retainer, I will give the first couple/family 48 hours to respond with a signed contract and retainer before providing the second couple/family the opportunity to do so. Because of the fact that I know there are other couples/families interested in that particular date, the retainer fee will be set to 50% in order to ensure I do not lose business should the first couple/family then cancel after booking. This policy is to protect both my clients and myself, and to ensure that all parties are respected.
